Position Summary:

The Executive Fellow will serve as a trusted liaison and strategic asset to GSS leadership, ensuring seamless execution of executive priorities and organizational initiatives. This role requires a highly organized, adaptable professional who can balance executive support, business administration, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement. The Executive Fellow will manage the CEO’s calendar, communications, and workflow, while coordinating across the organization to drive business development, client deliverables, and organizational growth. 

 

This position is designed as a one-year fellowship, providing the selected candidate with direct mentorship from senior leadership and exposure to the firm’s most critical work at the intersection of cybersecurity, national security, critical infrastructure, supply chains, and emerging technology. The Fellow will have a unique opportunity to build relationships with leaders in government, industry, and civil society while gaining hands-on experience in executive decision-making and organizational management. At the conclusion of the fellowship, candidates may be considered for upward mobility into either an administrative leadership role or a research-oriented role, depending on their skills and professional aspirations. 

 

The ideal candidate will be personable, excel at managing competing priorities, maintaining operational discipline, and producing high-quality communications and deliverables that reflect the firm’s brand and mission while maintaining their sense of humor. Key Responsibilities:

  • Executive Support & Operations: Manage the CEO’s calendar, communications, and workflow while ensuring timely follow-through on priorities. Oversee key administrative tasks, certifications, and compliance requirements. 
  • Business Coordination & Outreach: Partner with the Associate Director of Operations to advance cross-functional initiatives in business administration, execution, and development. Maintain CRM systems, track stakeholder engagement, and support outreach efforts. 
  • Communications & Content: Draft and edit communications including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, and client-facing materials. Manage the company website, LinkedIn presence, and event promotion to reflect strategic priorities. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Events: Build relationships with clients, partners, and industry leaders. Coordinate events such as webinars, conferences, and convenings to enhance visibility and thought leadership. 
  • Analysis & Professional Development: Monitor and report on communications and outreach impact. Engage directly with the CEO and senior leadership for mentorship, skill-building, and immersion in cybersecurity, national security, and emerging technology. 

 

Qualifications

  • Work experience in the service industry, consulting, or government relations.  
  • Professional research and writing experience that can be applied to government and commercial uses. 
  • Professional research and writing experience that can be applied for executive support, consulting, government relations, or business operations. 
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex schedules, workflows, and communications for senior leaders or teams. 
  • Experience drafting and editing professional communications, including reports, memos, and digital content. 
  • Familiarity with data systems, outreach initiatives, and stakeholder engagement processes. 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Communications, International Relations, or a related field. 
  • Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, Public Policy, National Security, or Cybersecurity) are preferred but not required.

Tools

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace. 
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Nimble, Zoho) and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com). 
  • Comfort with managing digital communications platforms and social media channels, particularly LinkedIn.
